St. Leo Catholic School celebrated our 8th graders in a beautiful graduation Mass and ceremony yesterday evening at St Leo Magnus Church. This year’s graduates were Joan Dollinger, Kate Gausman, Elizabeth Nicklas, Everett Ames, Avery Cenni, Patrick Messineo, and Phoebe Washburn. The class led Mass by proclaiming the readings and prayers of the faithful and by bringing up the gifts.
During his homily, Fr. Justin Pino referenced the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit and assigned each student a picture of a Saint representing the student’s strengths as a keepsake. When the homily was complete, Mrs. Kucenski announced award recipients, including the Christian Spirit Award, which was given to Miss Kate Gausman, and the St. Bartolo Longo Award for best practice in the virtue of Responsibility, given to Miss Elizabeth Nicklas, along with many other awards and scholarships. The students then received their diplomas.
The 7 students, along with their family, friends, and teachers, were then treated to a beautiful social gathering filled with tasty hors d’oeuvres, delicious punch, and fellowship to end the night.
