Recently, our 7th-grade students at SMCMS put science into action during a hands-on lab exploring the Law of Conservation of Mass!
Working with a partner, students gathered materials, followed procedures, and carefully recorded their data. Each group measured vinegar and baking soda, then attached a balloon to capture the reaction.
When the ingredients were combined, a fun (and a little surprising!) reaction took place—the gas produced inflated the balloon right before their eyes!
It was an exciting way to see science come to life and better understand how matter is neither created nor destroyed—just transformed!
