Recently, our 5th-grade students at SMCES, in conjunction with the St. Mary’s City Police Department, participated in the D.A.R.E. Program. This program teaches students the importance of saying no to drugs and equips them with the skills needed to navigate peer pressure and make positive choices in life.
A graduation ceremony was held in the cafeteria, where each student received a certificate to mark their successful completion of the program.
Special recognition goes to Nora Shutz and Cove Condino (absent that day), who were selected as winners of the D.A.R.E. essay contest! To celebrate their achievement, they were treated to pizza.
Congratulations to all of our D.A.R.E. graduates—we are proud of you!
