Last Friday, St. Marys Catholic Elementary School (SMCES) capped off an inspiring Catholic Schools Week with a high-energy pep rally celebrating quarterly achievements in reading, math, and STREAM. The festivities began with a “cereal domino” run, featuring 312 boxes collected during a school-wide food drive for the local food bank. The spirit of giving continued as Kindergarteners participated in their annual Hop-A-Thon for MDA; this milestone 25th year brought the school’s lifetime contribution to an impressive $30,617. The “angel-themed” week concluded with laughter as students dressed their teachers in angel costumes, followed by a moving performance of “Angels Among Us” led by the fifth-grade class.
