Elk County Catholic High School is pleased to announce the launch of a new Industrial Maintenance/Technology program. This new program begins with our Mechanical, Electrical, and Technology (MET) Foundations Course. This course is being offered in conjunction with Northern PA Regional College. ECCHS currently has seven juniors and seniors enrolled in the course for the second semester of the 25-26 school year.
The MET Foundations course will cover three elements: OSHA 10 Training, a Basic Electrical component, and a Basic Mechanical component. The MET Foundations course will be the first in a series of 5-6 courses offered to ECCHS students. Beginning in the fall of the 2026 school year, the MET Foundations course will be offered along with the second course in the program.
The program is designed for students in grades 9-12 who plan to enter the workforce, pursue technical training, or are considering further education in engineering. The courses will combine classroom instruction, hands-on training, and on-site visits. Information will also be shared with students and parents when ECCHS begins scheduling for the 26-27 school year in late February.
After several years of evaluating the community’s needs with local industry and business leaders, we look forward to what the future holds as we continue to grow. The program would not be possible without our Industrial Technology Advisory Group, who were instrumental in getting the program up and running.
