October is the Month of the Rosary, dedicated to the Holy Rosary and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The schools had a special visit this week from John and Margie Walsh of Erie. John and Margie began teaching the Rosary to students in Catholic schools in the city of Erie through the Erie Diocese Rosaries for Kids Project. Students learned about the Rosary, the Brown Scapular, Our Lady of Fatima, and the Miracle of the Sun. The students were gifted prayer cards, brown scapulars, and a Rosary blessed by Bishop Persico.
The Walsh’s have been traveling to all 13 counties of the diocese for the last 43 years. This will be the final year for the Walsh’s participation in the Rosaries for Kids Project. We are blessed to have John and Margie share their mission and passion for the Rosary with us over the years, and they will truly be missed. Mrs. Elizabeth Gill will be taking over the program for the Erie Diocese next year.
