Students at Elk County Catholic School System commemorated the 24th anniversary of the September 11 attacks with prayer and reflection.
The day began with school-wide prayers for the victims, their families, and the first responders. At St. Marys Catholic Elementary School students gathered for morning prayer during announcements and reviewed the history of September 11 during class. At St. Leo School, students gathered for Mass and prayed the Litany of Peace. In the middle school, students in religion and social studies classes held class-wide prayers and then composed their own prayers for those impacted by the attacks. High school students took time from their Theology class to offer prayers and petitions for the victims of September 11 and for lasting peace throughout the world.
