In Profesora Shrubb’s Spanish class, students earn pesos that they can use for a variety of Spanish items, classroom rewards and group and class awards. 8th grade Spanish 1 was the first class to save for a class fiesta to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!
Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15-October 15, and this week Central America, Mexico and Chile celebrates their independence. Mango, the class frog mascota, danced a little salsa while students tried different flavors of the Mexican drink Jarritos, tacos with guacamole, queso and salsa verde and even some Mexican cookies! ¡Delicioso!
