Over the next several weeks, we will be introducing some of our new staff this year!
Today, we recognize Ms. Amanda Shrubb. Amanda will be teaching Spanish at St. Marys Catholic Middle School and Elk County Catholic High School. Amanda is a graduate of IUP and holds a Master’s degree equivalent from Universidad de Granada and ESL Program Specialist certification.
Amanda grew up in Bennetts Valley and recently moved back from the D.C. area. She is entering her 23rd year of teaching Spanish. Amanda has taught in Maryland, Florida, and Mexico and lived in Costa Rica, Mexico, and Spain.
“My goal is to give back all of my experience to our local community so that our students can also explore the world and have the tools to do so, said Amanda.”
Outside the classroom, Amanda enjoys dancing, swimming, volleyball, traveling, concerts, and spending time with her family and pets.
Bienvenida, Sra. Shrubb!
