In today’s “Where Are You Wednesday” post, we are featuring alum Lindsay (Amacher) Marzella, a member of the ECCHS class of 2006!

After graduation, Lindsay began pursuing a career in nursing at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and completed her training at the CCCTC. Once she obtained her nursing license, she worked in a family practice in Ridgway with Dr. Udarbe through Kane Community Hospital, which eventually became UPMC Kane. Lindsay remained there until the birth of her first child, at which point she chose to stay home and focus on raising her growing family.

Lindsay and her family currently reside in Ridgway with her husband of 13 years, Josh. They’re proud parents to four children: Antonio (11), Marco (9), Nico (6), and their little girl Kamila (1.5).

“Josh and I had always dreamed of opening a family-run business—something close to home that would allow us to spend more time with our kids, avoid the long commutes, and eventually involve them as they grew. Whether that be through summer jobs, after-school help, or someday taking over the business entirely, we wanted to build something lasting that we could pass down, stated Lindsay.”

“Our shared passion for food, high-quality ingredients, and feeding people helped make our decision a little clearer. That’s how The Sons of Little Italy was born. Located at 25 Luray Drive in Ridgway, we built our Italian deli, grocery, and pizza/sandwich shop from the ground up. Most of our ingredients are imported directly from Italy, while others are sourced from trusted suppliers in Pittsburgh, Chicago, and New York.”

“Reflecting on my journey, I’m incredibly grateful my parents chose to send me to ECC. It was there that I formed lifelong friendships that still thrive today. ECC allowed me to gain independence while still being guided during what I believe is one of the most formative times in life.”

“I can honestly say I don’t have a single bad memory from my time there—unless you count my one and only detention in my entire life (thank you, Mrs. A and Mr. Schneider! 😊). I’ll always cherish Art class with Mr. Winklbauer, where we would drop our backpacks outside the door and enter a creative space led by a true legend. WeeJ Fernan taught me how to balance a checkbook, and Mr. Straub taught me what all the road signs meant in Drivers Ed—skills that stick with me to this day.”

“What I learned and gained at ECC is immeasurable. It fostered learning, communication, confidence, and individual growth in a welcoming and positive environment. I’m so fortunate to now be sending my own children to ECCSS, with my oldest beginning middle school at ECC this fall.”

The Crusader family wishes Lindsay and her family much success in their new business!
