St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary School held its preschool art exhibit last evening. Over the school year, the three—and four-year-old preschool students studied various artists and styles of art. Their work was proudly displayed in the gym for families to enjoy throughout the evening. 🎨

Mrs. Skellen’s Class – Works of Art:

George Seurat inspired dot apples on a stretched canvas.

Jim Dine’s inspired preschool collaboration based on Confetti Heart, 1985.

Dale Chihuly’s inspired sculptures from Play-Doh & crazy straws.

Paul Klee’s inspired block printing is based on Castle & Sun, 1928.

Piet Mondrian’s inspired painting of the first initials based on Composition C (No. 3) with Red, Yellow, and Blue, 1935, on stretched canvas.

Jackson Pollock’s inspired Splash painting is based on Number 5, 1949.

The pop art paintings were inspired by Pennsylvania’s own, Andy Warhol.

Mrs. Emery’s Class – Works of Art:

Keith Haring’s work inspired the class piece called “Movement & Dance.”

Andy Warhol inspired the pop art project.

Using construction paper and paint, the class built their own Ladder to the Moon inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe.

Pablo Picasso’s “Bouquet of Peace” inspired the students’ masterpieces of peace.

Jackson Pollock’s splatter paint style inspired the students’ splatter paint on canvas.

Mrs. Kamats’ Class – Works of Art:

Native American Pinch Pots were created and designed by using Model Magic.

Monet’s art was inspired by his original masterpiece, Water Lilies.

Squares of black & circles of glue were used to create a version of Wassily Kandinsky’s Concentric Circles.

Dinosaurs were inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat & were one of the class’s favorite units this year!

Keith Haring’s work inspired the class sculptures of straws and pipe cleaners.

Our four-year-old students inspired additional artwork.
