During the Week of April 21, our students at St. Marys Catholic Middle School and Elk County Catholic High School got to add their splashes of paint to the America250PA-Elk County Liberty Bell as part of the 4,000 Elk County students who are co-creating the project.
While the Bell was here, Elk County Commissioners Fritz Lecker, Greg Gebauer, and Matt Quesenberry—who are sponsoring the Bell—along with ECCHS alum John Schlimm—who developed the Abstract Expressionism concept for the Bell—visited. At the same time, some of the high school students added their splashes and were filmed for the project’s short documentary.
Next week, the A250PA-Elk County Liberty Bell will visit St. Leo School.
The completed A250PA-Elk County Liberty Bell will be installed and dedicated on the grounds of the Elk County Courthouse later this Fall.
