The preschool class at St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary School has been learning all about pets! The class’s dramatic play area was turned into a veterinary hospital, where the children could use their imagination to care for sick and wounded animals.

Students learned about many different types of pets and created arts and crafts to go along with each lesson that was taught. Snakes, parakeets, cats, and we can’t forget dogs were a few of the animals the preschool classes learned about. Guest speaker Dr. Jesse Shirey of Elk County Veterinary Clinic stopped by to talk about responsible pet care and ownership with the preschool. At the conclusion of the lesson, the class held an adoption day with furever friends to take home!
