Welcome back to the Crusader family, Tracey! ❤️💛

Last summer, Tracey (Geci) Duncan and her family decided to move back to St. Marys after 22 years from Aliquippa, PA. Tracey was a 1995 ECCHS graduate. After touring several middle and high schools for her daughters, Tracey and her family decided to return to her hometown and alma mater.

Tracey recently shared with us her family’s experience moving back home.

“So far, my girls’ experiences have been amazing. Before our move, they attended Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School and Baden Academy Charter School in Beaver County, so ECC has some pretty big shoes to fill, but so far, we are very happy with our school choice. The girls are enjoying so many things about their new school. The soccer team embraced my daughter immediately. What a wonderful group of girls and coaches! Basketball and cheerleading did not disappoint either. My daughter, who has not been in gymnastics since she was eight, decided to join the Competition Cheer Team and got to participate at the State level. That has been fun to watch.”

“What we enjoy most about moving back up here is the community; Friday Night Lights, basketball games, the small-town rivalry, the whole atmosphere. Everyone shows up, whether they have a player/cheerleader participating or not; everyone supports everyone. It takes a village to raise kids, and St. Marys is my new village. Now I have so much help, and we’re surrounded by so much love! The transition from one school to another was seamless, and that was because of several people, but mainly Danielle Fledderman and John Schneider, who helped us through the initial process; Mrs. Messineo and Mr. Straub, who followed up to make sure the girls were doing okay; and Jessica Fritz who, from the summer before our move till today, has constantly checked in with me to see how things were going and to see if we’ve needed anything. She has always been there for us. We are very grateful to the entire ECC community.”
