The Lunar New Year 2025, beginning on January 29, marks the Year of the Wood Snake, a period of transformation, renewal, and growth. Celebrated across multiple Asian cultures, this year emphasizes shedding negativity and embracing change.

The students have a full week of activities to ring in the New Year! Yesterday, students enjoyed lunch provided by the Panda House in Johnsonburg. Host family Kurt and Diane Samick held a dinner where students made dumplings and had the opportunity to reach out online to celebrate with their families overseas. To end the week, the host family, Mark and Gerianne Cunningham, will hold a Hot Pot dinner for the students on Saturday.
