Recently, the fifth-grade classes at SMCES held a fundraising drive for the Elk County Humane Society. The students could dress in animal-print attire, and each grade was given a specific list of shelter supplies to bring in. In lieu of that, the students could make a monetary donation.
Two visitors from the Humane Society, along with Carter (a Dalmatian mix), visited the students and accepted their donation. The school successfully raised $625, which was also matched by Straub Insurance Agency, Inc., bringing the total donation to $1,250, along with several boxes of shelter supplies!
