K9 Unit Visits Preschool

Miss McCracken’s Pre-4 class at St. Marys Catholic Elementary School had a special visitor, Sgt. Mike Shaffer and his new K9 partner, Draco.

Draco, a Belgian Malinois from Poland, has been trained by Canine Deployed in West Lafayette, Indiana. He and Sgt. Shaffer are in the final stages of their training to become a certified K9 unit. Draco’s training and his skills in drug detection, tracking, and other missions make him a valuable asset for the City of St. Marys, Elk County, and beyond.
