Elk County Catholic School System would like to welcome Miss Barb Neilson to their faculty and staff!
Miss Neilson will teach Geometric Math, Geometry, Algebra IB, Integrated Math, and Integrated Math Foundations at Elk County Catholic High School. Barb grew up in Johnsonburg, PA. In 2001, she received her BSEd Secondary Mathematics from California University of Pennsylvania, followed by her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Character Education – at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania (2004) and MEd Curriculum and Instruction from Clarion University of PA (2011). Barb was in the Honors Program, University Marching Band, Brass Ensemble, Pep Band, and Jazz Band and tutored Math in college.
Before teaching at ECCHS, Barb taught at Port Allegany and Jeff Tech. She is a Johnsonburg Fire Department Auxiliary member, recreational soccer coach, and Girls Scout leader in St. Marys. Barb enjoys traveling, crafting/repurposing with Cricut, watching Penn State and Buffalo Bills football, and spending time with family.
Miss Neilson looks forward to teaching in a smaller, more personal setting. She is excited to join the ECCHS staff and be back home in Elk County.
