St. Marys Catholic Elementary School is accepting applications for substitute teachers for the 2024-2025 school year.

Responsibilities:
– Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the absent teacher
– Provide instruction and support to students in various subjects, including literacy education, math, and special education
– Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of students
– Maintain a positive and engaging classroom environment
– Manage student behavior and enforce school policies
– Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure continuity of instruction
– Provide feedback to the regular classroom teacher regarding student progress
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred
– Experience working with children, such as in tutoring, preschool, or childhood development
– Knowledge of various subjects, including literacy education, math, and special education
– Ability to adapt teaching strategies for students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism or other special needs
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to follow instructions and work independently
– Flexibility and willingness to work on short notice
Note: This position is on an as-needed basis and may require availability during regular school hours. Substitute teachers are expected to provide their own transportation to and from school locations.
