Members of the Junior Envirothon are shown with pelts and skulls of area wildlife as part of their Wildlife lesson with the DCNR. The DCNR utilizes wildlife that passes from natural causes to educate the students on birds, mammals, wildlife ecology, conservation and management of wildlife, and issues involving wildlife and society.

Pennsylvania Envirothon is a fun, academic event that challenges students to think critically about the natural world and their roles in it.

The natural resource environmental education program combines classroom learning and outdoor activities. At the Pennsylvania Envirothon, teams of five students compete in field testing using their knowledge in these topic areas:

Soils and Land Use

Aquatic Ecology

Forestry

Wildlife

Environmental Issues

DCNR is a partner in the Pennsylvania Envirothon.
