Kreckel Enterprises Inc. / ECCHS 2024 Student of the Year
Kreckel Enterprises Inc. presented the 2024 Student of the Year Award this morning following Mass at Elk County Catholic High School. The winner for the Class of 2024 is Isabella Macer. Isabella is from Ridgway, and she and her family belong to St. Leo’s Parish. While at ECC, Isabella has been active in Volleyball, Cross Country, Competition Cheer, and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).
Isabella is pictured here with her parents, Greg and Patricia Macer, and her grandparents, Bill and Patty Hoh. Also Pictured is Vern Kreckel III. President and Owner of Kreckel Enterprises Inc., and Mary Kreckel, Secretary of Kreckel Enterprises Inc., along with Annie Reedy, Sarah Reedy, Maddison Taylor, Holly Buttery, and Adam Straub. Following the presentation, family and friends attended a lunch held at the Pour House. Isabella plans to attend college to study and pursue a career in the engineering field.
Kreckel Enterprises established the Student of the Year award in 2017 in memory of the late Lavern G. Kreckel Jr., a member of the Elk County Christian High School Class of 1963. He was employed by Powder Metal Products (MPP) as a Class A Machinist and Tool and Die Maker from 1963 to 2008. Kreckel was also a well-known area businessman and employed many people over the years, teaching and encouraging the Machinist trade and other careers in the Powder Metal industry. In 1971, he helped establish one of the first secondary machining operations. Later, he helped establish Kreckel Enterprises in 1997 with his son Vern.
Past award winners are Adam Straub 2023, Holly Buttery 2022, Olivia Matha 2021, Maddison Taylor 2020, Isaac Gradl 2019, and Kendra Smithbauer 2018. Kreckel Enterprises partners with Taylor Glass Specialists, Dave’s ProShop, and Kennedy Signs for the award package components. Many thanks to them for all of their help and support.
