This week’s Alumni Spotlight feature is Marisa (Caruso) Purdy, ECCHS class of 2005, and her husband, Keith Purdy, class of 2006.

Keith is a graduate of St. Vincent College and is currently a Captain in the U.S. Army. Marisa graduated from Duquesne University and is completing her Masters degree through Gannon University. Marisa teaches 4th grade at a DoDEA school in Wiesbaden, Germany, where Marisa and Keith live with their family.

“My favorite memories of ECC are all with the band and the musicals. I had the best time performing with those wonderful people. Mrs. Evans was a huge influence on my future. Marisa said she opened my eyes to the idea of being a teacher and helped me recognize my potential, even when I couldn’t see it myself.”

Keith’s favorite memories of ECC were hanging out with his friends between football practice. The staff that had the most significant influence on Keith during his time at ECCHS were Mrs. Anderson, Fr. David, and Coach Lecker. “Mrs. A taught me strong academic habits, which made going to college much easier. Keith said Fr. David helped strengthen my religious convictions, and Coach Lecker taught me to persevere when things got difficult.”

Thank you, Keith and Marisa, for taking the time to catch up with us. From all of us at Elk County Catholic School System, we hope you and your family have a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!
