At Elk County Catholic School System, STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, and Math) is integrated into our everyday curriculum.

St. Marys Catholic Elementary School offers weekly STREAM enrichment for grades K-5. All grades use coding with a program called code.org. Each month, the school works together for a cause. In September, the entire school body created a mural based on The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, encouraging students to “make your mark.” Other activities include a family fun night where 4th and 5th-grade students and their families enjoy STREAM activities together at the school.

At St. Leo School, classical education was born in Greek culture and thrived until the late 19th century. This proven method of education has produced some of the greatest thinkers, leaders, writers, artists, and scientists in the Western world, including America’s founding fathers. St. Leo School utilizes STREAM enrichment to enhance the foundation of a classical curriculum.

St. Marys Catholic Middle School utilizes a personalized learning program, IXL in Math, English, Science, and Social Studies, to help reinforce fundamental skills and provide additional challenges based on student needs. Two Science/STREAM lab areas are available for hands-on learning. Technology courses in each grade help to enhance student skills, including training in coding. Extensive use of technology integrated into courses with a 1:1 technology initiative, with each student being assigned their own Chromebook. Cross-curricular engineering projects are integrated quarterly. Students can select a club/elective activity with a STREAM theme each semester. Each middle school class completes a community service project each school year.

Elk County Catholic High School hosts multiple pathways to graduation for college-bound students or those who choose technical training, the military, or entry into the workforce. To accommodate the different needs of students, the school offers a variety of Advanced Placement and dual-enrollment options, as well as some career-technical education courses hosted on-site and through the Open Campus program and a school-to-work program. ECC has been a leader in the region with a 1:1 technology initiative in place for over a decade. Service to the community is a key component of our mission, with each student earning at least 80 hours of service to the community before graduation. The school also hosts a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities.

STREAM curriculum helps students develop lifelong, transferable 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. With God as our constant source of inspiration, our mission is to develop the whole student in mind, body, and spirit while nurturing the values of knowledge, peace, and holiness.
