Music Program:

At the elementary level, students meet for a music class once a week. St. Marys Catholic Elementary School preschool-5th grade follows a STREAM curriculum. The younger grades learn rhythm and beat, while the 4th and 5th students learn to read music and play various musical instruments. Students also have the opportunity to sign up for a Christmas Choir, and by second grade, students can join the choir at Mass. 4th and 5th-grade students have the opportunity for an after-school music program. The after-school program is eligible to participate in the fall and spring concerts.  6th-8th grade students meet in small groups on Thursdays.

St. Leo School offers a liberal and classical approach to music education for Kindergarten through 8th-grade students. Saint Leo’s curriculum focuses on cultivating listening skills while forming an understanding of and appreciation for Sacred and Classical music. Music is a way to experience God through singing hymns, chanting Latin prayers, and playing instrumental melodies.

High School students can participate in the Marching Band, Competition, and Color Guard in the fall. During the winter and spring months, ECC offers a Concert Band, Indoor Color Guard, and new this year, Indoor Drumline. In addition to the band, ECC’s music department offers Concert Choir. The music department also provides an orchestra for the yearly play in the Spring.
