John and Margie Walsh of Erie began teaching the rosary to students in Catholic schools in the city of Erie through the Erie Diocese Rosaries for Kids Project. They have been traveling to all 13 counties of the diocese for 33 years. They bring some of the 1,000 colorful rosaries handmade by women of the World Apostolate of Fatima and blessed by Bishop Lawrence Persico for distribution. Margie uses puppets, statues, a crucifix, coloring books, and many handwritten materials to make her hour-long talks come alive. The Walsh’s and fourth-grade students from St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary School are shown in the picture.
