With a break in the weather today students are beginning to fill up the garden boxes at the St. Marys Catholic Elementary School Community Garden!

Throughout the summer at the Growing Gardeners Camp students in kindergarten through third grade will learn about planting and caring for various vegetables, herbs, and flowers; explore native plants; study birds, bees, and butterflies; and enjoy scavenger hunts on special Farm Days at the Gillen Farm in Kersey.

The St. Marys Catholic Elementary School Community Garden was made possible through grants held at the Elk County Community Foundation by the Harrison and Muriel Dauer Stackpole Family Fund and the Elk County Development Fund.

Thank you to Diane Gillen and Lynn Hoffman for helping host our Growing Gardeners Summer Camp.
