Recently students from Elk County Catholic High School visited the WWII Museum in Eldred, PA as part of their Medal of Honor class with Ret. Lt. Col. Tim Pearson.
Medal of Honor is offered for Junior and Seniors. The lessons in this course are drawn from the personal accounts of living Medal of Honor recipients. The “living histories” and the accompanying instructional activities encourage students to consider each concept from their own perspective. The Medal of Honor class is designed to provide students with opportunities to explore the important concepts of courage, commitment, sacrifice, patriotism, integrity, and citizenship and how these values can be exemplified in daily life.
Mr. Pearson is a graduate of ECCHS and a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel previously deployed to war zones in Iraq and Afghanistan, in a military career stretching back some 20 years and spanning numerous officer and commander roles. We thank Mr. Pearson for his service and time in the classroom helping develop our students to become upstanding citizens and future leaders.
A special thank you to retired Army Green Beret and Curator for the WWII Museum Steve Appleby for hosting ECCHS.
