Students at Elk County Catholic High School reflect on their Lenten journey leading up to Holy Week.
This year the students took a different path on the traditional Catholic habits of Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving during Lent by taking the “Crusader 40 Pledge.” The students and staff gathered in prayer by attending adoration during lunch periods. In addition, the entire school prayed the rosary after Mass each week. Students and staff “fasted” from their cell phones which were replaced by rosaries in their pockets. Finally, their almsgiving journey included kinder responses in class, helping their classmates and teachers, being courteous to each other and giving of their time.
