The International Student Program at Elk County Catholic has provided an invaluable cultural experience for 15 foreign students since the program began 8 years ago. The diversity offered by the international program provides a great learning experience for the students of ECC, helping to prepare them for their future after graduation.
We have been blessed by wonderful host families since the program began and are currently seeking new families for the 2023/2024 school year.
Kevin Nguyen will be attending ECC in the fall as a junior and is in need of a host family. Kevin is from Vietnam and is following in his sister’s footsteps by attending ECCHS. Len Nguyen graduated from ECC in 2017 and went on to attend Lawrence University.
Some things to consider about hosting:
• This is a 10-month commitment, you will have the option to continue to host if you choose.
• A stipend of $8,000 is paid to the host parents to cover 2 meals per day and any additional utilities incurred by having an extra person in the household. All other expenses are paid for by the student’s parents.
• A virtual interview would be conducted between you and the student before any decision would be made.
Please contact Mrs. Kim Schlimm if you have any questions or would like to learn more.
