Keystone Elk County Alliance Visits SMCES

Mr. Ben Porkolab, Conservation Education Coordinator of the Keystone Elk County Alliance at the Elk County Visitor Center, visited St. Marys Catholic Elementary School’s 4th and 5th graders to explain what life was like while he was living in Alaska. Mr. Porkolab shared several clothing items that were necessary to survive the cold weather, and he presented a great deal of information about the famous “Iditarod” to coordinate with what the students were learning in Mrs. Bosnik’s reading classes.
