Recently at the Glendale Color Guard Competition, ECC sophomore Elizabeth Mae Schmidt was awarded one of the highest honors an artist can receive in the Color Guard; The Outstanding Performer Award. Elizabeth received this after exhibiting superb performing skills in the Elk Catholic Color Guards performance, Sincerity In Duality.

Her character was so clear that, according to one of her peers, “It is so potent, I want to cry when I see her dance. It truly strikes a nerve. It’s not easy to display the emotions that are asked for sometimes, but she is such a fantastic actor that it looks easy. No one else deserves that award more than she does.” Elizabeth was announced shortly before the awards ceremony, and in a video taken of the moment, no one is cheering louder for her than her teammates.

Congratulations Elizabeth from all of us at ECCSS!!
