Kreckel Enterprises Inc. awards Holly Buttery 2022 ECCHS Student of the Year Award

On Friday morning December 17th a special presentation was made following the School Mass at Elk County Catholic High School as Holly Buttery was presented with the 2022 Kreckel Enterprises Inc. Student of the Year Award.

This is the fifth presentation of the award in memory of Lavern G. Kreckel Jr. who was a member of the Elk County Christian High School Class of 1963. Kreckel worked at Powder Metal Products (MPP Washington Street Division) for 45 years from 1963 to 2008 as a machinist and tool and die maker and in 1970 he helped to established a Secondary Machining operation to support local industry.

Kreckel loved his job, and the people he worked with and employed, and took great pride in his work and business. Kreckel and his son Vern established Kreckel Enterprises Inc. in 1997, and this year the company is marking its 25th Anniversary in the industry. Kreckel passed away in 2017, and today the company is owned and operated by his son Vern.

Holly is a member of the ECCHS Class of 2022, and she joins Olivia Matha (2021), Maddison Taylor (2020), Isaac Gradl (2019), and Kendra Smithbauer (2018) in the winners circle.

Holly is the daughter of Jon and Darlene Buttery of St. Marys. Pictured above with Holly and her Parents Jon and Darlene Buttery, is Vern Kreckel III, Mary Kreckel (wife of Lavern G. Kreckel Jr.), Annie Reedy (Daughter of Lavern G. Kreckel Jr.) Sarah Reedy (Granddaughter of Lavern G. Kreckel Jr.), Olivia Matha, Maddison Taylor, and Isaac Gradl.

The Kreckel family extends many best wishes to Holly, and looks forward to this years program with her.
