Mrs. Mitcheltree’s Kindergarten class at St. Leo School have observed the Monarch Butterfly throughout all the stages of its life cycle in their Nature Studies classes. The butterfly emerged from its chrysalis after 14 days and was released on Friday afternoon (October 1st). The students chose to release the butterfly in front of the statue of St. Francis, patron Saint of animals, for extra protection. The children also proudly displayed their mixed media artwork of the Monarch Butterfly.
