On Monday St. Marys Catholic Elementary School Principal Deb Slay was awarded the 1st Annual Elk County Toastmasters Achievement Award.

The Elk County Toastmasters Club provides individuals the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills in a supportive and friendly environment. Members practice public speaking, constructive criticism, listening skills, work presentations, leading meetings, impromptu speaking… and much more!

Mrs. Slay was nominated by Elk County for her strong leadership and communication during the COVID Pandemic. She showed excellence in compassion and communication for her students, parents, and staff. Mrs. Slay made sure staff was prepared for remote learning and her student families had the available technology to transition to virtual learning last Spring even delivering to those who were unable to pickup. Mrs. Slay made sure every staff, student, and parent was loved, heard, welcomed, and educated!

Congratulations Mrs. Slay from all of us at Elk County Catholic School System!
