Prior to COVID shut down third grade students received their new instrument (the beloved recorder) from music teacher Mrs. Wendel. The students were given a packet of 9 songs with each song increasing in difficulty.
Since students could not be in school Mrs. Wendel sent instructional videos. If they played it well, they received a colored “belt” similar to those earned in Karate. If the student made it through the program, they would receive 9 colored belts.
Parents shared videos from home with Mrs. Wendel of their child’s progress to advance to the next belt. Mrs. Wendel offered feedback and additional guidance when needed by students. We are proud to announce several students earned all 9 belts!! Mrs. Wendel delivered the belts to student mailboxes.
