Pictured in the above photo are representatives from First Commonwealth Bank presenting a contribution of $27,500 through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit program (EITC) to the Elk County Catholic School System. The STAR Foundation, a non-profit entity created by the Diocese of Erie, receives funds through the EITC program and allows businesses to make contributions for educational purposes to the school of their choice.
Through this donation, scholarship funds will be made available to students in need that attend Elk County Catholic High School, St. Marys Catholic Middle School, St. Marys Catholic Elementary School, and St. Boniface Catholic School. First Commonwealth Bank is proud to support local organizations that share in its mission of helping to improve the lives of its neighbors and their organizations.
Pictured (from left to right) are Sean Gabler, First Commonwealth Bank community business development manager; Ray Knight, SBCS principal; Amanda Mix, First Commonwealth Bank financial solutions center manager; Debbie Slay, SMCES principal; Sam MacDonald, ECCSS president; and John Schneider, ECCHS/SMCMS principal.
STAR Foundation scholarships are a central part of the effort to make Catholic education possible for all students in the Elk County area. ECCSS thanks them for their commitment to our community.
