SMCMS students show their support for “Kindness for Kinsley” campaign

Throughout the month of December, the student body at St. Marys Catholic Middle School collected pop tabs in conjunction with “Kindness for Kinsley”, a community service project that promotes random (and purposeful) acts of kindness in memory of Kinsley Kronenwetter. The collection also fit into the middle school’s Advent service project theme of “Bless Them. Change Me.” which promoted performing selfless acts for others throughout the season.
On Tuesday, January 15, the seventh-grade students delivered the pop tabs to the City of St. Marys Police Department. The tabs will be recycled and all proceeds will benefit families that utilize the Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh.
The students also passed out “Kindness for Kinsley” cards following their school Mass that day, which encourage others to perform random acts of kindness on the 15th of each month in Kinsley’s memory.
Another great service project for a truly worthwhile cause. #allthefeels #kindnessforkinsley
