ECC seniors Shannon Clancy and Brianne Ruffner are currently participating in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course at St. Marys Area High School. The class focuses on infection control, safety, resident rights, abuse training, vital signs, advanced patient care skills, and more. At the end of the school year, there will be a practical exam and if students pass, they will have earned the certificate that would allow them to directly enter the workforce as a CNA.
The class recently had the opportunity to assist with a school blood drive. Shannon and Brianne are pictured in the attached photo with their classmates (back row, third and fourth from right, respectively).
What a great career opportunity for these students!
