Congratulations to our boys’ tennis team on a successful season thus far!
Last week, the Crusaders edged Punxsy in the D9 “AA” Team Tournament by a 3-2 score to claim the championship. They will now travel to Monroeville today to take on Sewickley Academy in the first round of the state tournament.
Also, the ECC doubles team of Isaac Wortman and Ryan Newton won the D9 “AA” Doubles Tournament by defeating Brockway’s Josh Salada and Anthony Esposito, 6-3, 6-4. They will take on the District 4 champion in the first round of the state tournament on Friday, May 25 at the Hershey Racquet Club.
Lastly, Isaac Wortman finished as the D9 “AA” Singles runner-up. He was defeated by Punxsy’s Matt Blose, 6-2, 6-0, in the championship match.
