Local veterinarian visits SMCES to talk pets

The third graders at St. Marys Catholic Elementary were recently treated to a visit from Dr. Shirey of the Elk County Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Shirey discussed many topics with the students such as how to be a responsible pet owner, how to choose a pet, what a veterinarian does, and how to become a veterinarian. The students were very interested and asked many questions. They were also each gifted with a stuffed toy cat at the conclusion of the visit.
