As many of you know, longtime Elk County Catholic art teacher Pete Winklbauer passed away earlier this week. We will share a link to his obituary for our alums and friends as soon as it is available. For now, here is a bit of the e-mail ECC president Sam MacDonald sent to our faculty and staff when we heard the news:

Pete was a legend. He was a gifted teacher, a wonderful colleague, and a truly brilliant artist. His passion for his craft, deep and abiding love for his students, and joyful faith as a Catholic made him a fixture at ECC for generations. It was my great privilege to work with him and to know him.

Pete and his beloved wife Karen impacted many lives at ECC and the broader community. Please join me in praying for them and in celebrating their legacy, which lives on in our students and alumni. Thanks, Pete.
